So you want to become a rep?  UKMINI2 Representation As a rep, you will be given an email address, where members will be able to contact you for advice, or enquire about meets etc. Help to recruit new members The club exists for and because of it’s members. All this really means is that you need to keep a supply of fliers in your car, along with a few membership forms. Then, when you are out and about (at an event, or simply at the local Asda ), put one in the hand of any MINI owner who stands still long enough. There will be questions – the most common one being ‘what do I get?’ but as established members yourselves, answering questions like these should not cause any problems! New member generation Whether on the road by chance, at organised meetings, through dealers or through forum chats, it’s always good to drop in the line ‘so have you joined the UK MINI2 yet?’… To organise meetings / runs and other interesting activities The easiest or hardest part – depending on how good you are at cat herding! In an ideal world, your events will have a huge turn out, and will become akin to Hull monthly meet. However – events / meets are ideal times not only to get together for some fun and a chat, but also to ‘recruit’ new members. How often do we see the comment ‘now I know you’re not all saddos, I’ve joined up’….? In reality this takes time and effort - not something which we all have necessarily got. And we don't expect miracles! Most Reps start off small, and work up... Promotion of merchandise to members and non-members In order to (subtly!) maximise sales of our UKMINI2 merchandise we are in the process of putting together a ‘rep pack’ of items, along with a nice folder full of pictures and prices. This will allow you to display some of our items at events such as pub meets and cruises. This of course leads to more exposure for the UKMINI2, leading to more members... But don't worry - we're not expecting you to become salespeople! This part of the role is very much 'in addition' to our on-line shop - it's simply a way for generating more interest in the UKMINI2. What support does a UKMINI2 regional representative get? We aim to get all the reps together on an annual basis, usually 4 to 6 weeks before the AGM/annual event. We discuss problems areas and the next forthcoming year. We provide all our reps with access to the UKMINI2 committee section where we discuss all things related to the running of the club Each rep also gets a “home page” on this forum to maintain a short diary of all their meets (past & future). We also provide each rep with a folder containing a full pack of everything a prospective member needs to know about the UKMINI2 Owners Club. Each Rep also receives an email address, a special rep signature picture for displaying on on-line forums and a T shirt with UKMINI2 on it . Still Interested? Yes? Excellent!
